Tilly Wood came from my passion and love of dolls passed down to me by my French mother who handmade most of my toys as a child, sometimes bought from second hand shops and lovingly restored and transformed into something beautiful. With every doll she made there was often a story that came with it, which would bring that toy or object to life and inspire me to create more stories. My mother had a little vintage caravan in her garden, it was her creative and happy place where she would sew and write. Sadly she and that wonderful caravan have long gone but all her loveliness, colour and joie de vivre inspired me to create Tilly Wood because you are never too old to play or to start your own story.
